Oro Valley, Arizona is a very nice, northern suburb of Tucson, Arizona. It's located about 25-40 minutes from downtown Tucson and The University of Arizona. Oro Valley is known for its fabulous setting against the backdrop of The Santa Catalina Mountains, wonderful amenities, lovely homes in a wide price range, friendly people, golf courses, and a fantastic parks and recreation department.

Oro Valley was incorporated in 1974. It's beautifully nestled between The Santa Catalina Mountains to the East and The Tortolita Mountain Range to the North. The town sits at an elevation of almost 2700 feet above sea level and works its way up in elevation as it climbs into the foothills of the mountains.

Many of the housing communities throughout Oro Valley enjoy wide streets, walking and biking paths, pocket parks, and proximity to golf courses and Oro Valley Parks and Recreation facilities.

Oro Valley Parks and Recreation boasts:

  1. Aquatic Center – The Aquatic Center is a great place for family fun, exercise, and a pleasant day outside. It sits in the middle of a large park with trees and grass. The pool is huge and includes a splash pad for children, a water slide, and competition-level amenities. Swim lessons are available as are hours when the pool or a portion of the pool is devoted to swimming training. Check this facility out. It's really awesome!

  2. Community and Recreation Center – The Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center is located in the heart of Oro Valley. It's a tremendous asset to the community, and residents love it and use it regularly. It's very well-kept. There are two 18-hole golf courses on the premises as well as a driving range. To top it off, there's a full-service restaurant and bar, a golf shop, and a meeting room for rent. This is a great place to work out, have fun, meet people, and enjoy oneself. Highly recommended!
