Marana, Arizona is a rapidly growing, northwest suburb of Tucson, Arizona. It's located about 20-30 minutes from downtown Tucson. Marana used to be known for its farmland. Now, it's known for lovely housing, amenities, good schools, convenience to all that the Tucson area has to offer, and a well-run city government that consistently operates in the black.

Straddling Interstate 10, Marana is emerging as a logistics hub. The Union Pacific railway also runs along I-10 which provides another transportation option for Marana business.
Infrastructure improvements are ongoing in Marana, and the Marana Regional Airport (yes, I said airport!) has been vastly improved. It's becoming a popular airport for executive travel and general aviation.

Through the 1800s, Westward Expansion hit the Marana area. The Southern Pacific Railroad was running through the Marana area by the end of the 19th century. From the early 20th century up until very recently, the Marana area thrived as a farming community. In 1920, the name Marana was finally, formally, attached to the area. Ranching came to the area as well. In 1977 Marana was incorporated. This was primarily done to retain water rights for current and future residents. Since the late 1980s, farming has been on the decline, and the other industries previously discussed have been filling the void.
